Welcome

January 12th, 2022

Today was a crazy one, to say the least. It started out in early dark hours of the morning when the 2 year decided she was done sleeping. She didn’t care that mom and dad weren’t done, she wanted to watch “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood” and drink her morning soy milk immediately. As usual I feebly attempted to make it to 7am sans ‘Super Daniel’ but she repeatedly woke me up moments after drifting off. Daniel finally made his appearance at 7am and daddy went and got milk for her little royal highness. By 7:30 I could no longer sleep and got up to make coffee. I made my way through the messy house, because apparently mommy is the only one that cares about order and having a clean house and I haven’t been feeling myself lately.

The day went as usual, me begging the two older girls to get anything done that was useful, (ie. chores or school work). Followed by me fighting the toddler down for a nap all the while she kicked me and talked loudly. Oh yeah, she doesn’t fall asleep on her own anymore. I’m assuming this is some sort of toddler sleep regression and I DO NOT approve… finally after promising that we’d go to the park after she slept, she finally drifted off.

As we rushed out the door for the park, I realized I hadn’t eaten much today but had managed to drink a cup and a half of coffee. Which for me meant tremors, brain fog and fast talking. We got to the park and met with our friends, that we hadn’t seen in awhile. It was fun to catch up and all the kids ran around playing joyfully with each other. At one point the littlest asked me to join her at the top of the play structure. As I climbed the stairs and walked around atop the play thing, I realized that all of a sudden I had some serious vertigo. What in the world?! So now on top of my many other symptoms,  I now have vertigo..  (I’ll go into my health in another post). We finished up our visit at the Park and returned to the chaotic, messy house to have some dinner and get ready for Awana.

The dinner finished cooking with just about 15 minutes to eat before we had to dash out the door. 1 out of 3 kids actually ate said dinner, and then we scrambled out the door forgetting shoes for the tiny one. At least we had coats and she wouldn’t be spending more than a minute outside while I dropped the older 2 off at their weekly Bible club. Back in the car I scarfed down my still hot dinner that I’d thrown in my purse as we made our mad dash out the door, and the toddler screamed that she was also hungry. Since of course she’d refused dinner at home. So I dug around in my purse for the half eaten Cliff bar she had started on at the Park and all was right in the world.

Finally at home, she and I sat and watched some classic Disney in the form of “101 Dalmatians” while Daddy ran to pick up the girls from Club. This little girl is so sweet, but at some point a mama needs a minute where she isn’t being touched, yelled at, talked to, or climbed on. That moment didn’t come until after she’d finally fallen asleep, well after 10pm.

Here I lay in my bed, ready to sleep away this crazy hectic day. Good night.
